This is the “Ladder of Conclusions,” a concept by Judith Glaser.

It explains why two people can witness the same event and arrive at entirely different interpretations.

But here’s the problem:

❌ Instead of seeking understanding, we jump to judgment.
❌ Instead of embracing diverse views, we cling to our narratives.
❌ Instead of fostering open dialogue, we shut down potential learning.

The difference?
Those stuck on the upper rungs of the ladder are trapped by their perceptions, missing the full picture.

The best place to be?

At the base of the ladder.

It’s where empathy allows us to step into others’ shoes.

It’s where understanding creates a 360-degree view.
And it’s where informed decisions lead to mutual success.
